We intentionally made this the first question to address because it has been our experience that this is the first question/concern that our potential clients have when we contact them. With so many scams out there, it’s good to be skeptical and ask as many questions as possible to ensure that you are not taken advantage of.
Please rest assured that this is not a scam. National Money Finders, LLC, a Texas limited liability company, is a company owned and managed by Mr. Jorge Villegas who is a practicing attorney and CPA licensed in the state of Texas with our office located in El Paso, Texas. Mr. Villegas and the Office Manager supervise our staff to ensure that our clients receive great customer service and that the unclaimed property is released and delivered to our clients as soon as possible.
We are honest, hardworking professionals dedicated to being of service to our clients by returning property that is rightfully theirs.
We research federal, state, and local databases in search of property that belongs to individuals and businesses.
Typically, the unclaimed property reports that we research have the mailing addresses of the property owners. When the reports don’t have mailing addresses or the initial letter we send gets returned to us as undeliverable, we use multiple address directories and perform online searches.
The unclaimed property may be held at federal, state, or local government agencies as well as with private entities such as banks and insurance companies.
When it comes to filing claims to recover unclaimed property, time is always of the essence. If the unclaimed property is currently being held by a government agency and the owner doesn’t file an application for it’s release within a specified period of time, the unclaimed property will become the property of the government. If the application for the property’s release is done timely, however, the holder of the unclaimed property must, by law, release the property to its rightful owner or agent.
The claims process typically takes somewhere between 4 to 6 weeks depending on the agency currently holding the unclaimed property. Unfortunately, some agencies holding the unclaimed property are not too excited about releasing money that they use for their operations but we stay on top of them until they release the property.
In the initial letter we send our potential clients, we encourage them to perform their own research before calling us. Once they’ve attempted to locate unclaimed property without success, they contact us for help.
With over 15 years of experience dealing with unclaimed property, we are experts in locating forgotten property, finding the rightful owners, and the claims process. National Money Finders has a professional staff that includes an attorney and CPA, research assistants, claim specialists, and administrative assistants to ensure that our clients receive outstanding service and results.
There are no upfront costs and we only get paid if we are successful in returning unclaimed property to our clients. We cover all fees including filing fees, research fees, attorney and accounting fees, travel, etc.
Yes. It is our practice to have our clients sign an engagement letter which describes the services we will provide, our mutual responsibilities, and fees. In addition, some documents requested by the agencies holding the unclaimed property may have to be signed including Limited Powers of Attorney.
