After being honorably discharged, I attended the University of Texas at El Paso where I received a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1994 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1996. I worked in the accounting and finance field for over five years then returned to school and attended Cornell University from where I received a doctorate in law (with a concentration in business regulation) in 2002.
